Reality sets in
I am not sure why reality is just setting in. We signed up for a Childbirth Preparation Class at the hospital, checked out 4 baby books at the library, and received our first baby presents from my mom. Honestly the kicker was the baby clothes. It's crazy to think our baby will be so tiny and that we are responsible for that little life. I will be dressing our little girl in these clothes in just a little over 4 months! It can be a little overwhelming, but I know with support from each other and our trust that God is taking care of us and that He is in control that we will be okay.

21 weeks
I am officially 21 weeks! It feels good to be past the halfway point. I am feeling so good these days. I am feeling baby girl even more now, and let me tell you she's a strong girl. I don't know what it's going to be like when she is almost full grown, and there is no more space in there. In terms of food, I love fruit. I have to limit myself on how much I eat. There is not much I don't like at this point except red sauce. I like pizza but spaghetti or any other pasta with red sauce is less than appealing. I would also like to report that I resisted buying sour patch kids a couple of weeks ago and have not had them since. Although, they might be a nice little easter basket gift if I do say so myself.
White Chicken Enchiladas
This past Monday I tried a new recipe, the Pioneer Woman's White Chicken Enchiladas. This is the first time that I have ever made enchiladas, and it was super easy. It would be a good dish to make for company and it would be easy enough to make 2 cassarole pans for a large crowd. Since I am not loving red sauce foods right now, these really hit the spot with the white sauce. My only complaint would be that they were a bit too saucy, but putting them on a bed of rice or just using less sauce would fix the problem. Next time I think I am going to try adding black beans to the chicken mixture so we won't have to use as much meat.
No more lime green
We have been in our house for almost three years now and haven't painted one wall until this past weekend. The whole house is a very light neutral beige color except for what was the baby's room (for the people who lived there before us). That room was lime green and had glow in the dark stars on the ceiling. We had been using it for our guest room and had never gotten around to painting it or taking down those glow in the dark stars (although one would fall down on its own every 1 or 2 months). I am glad to report there is no more lime green. Don't get me wrong. I like lime green, just as an accent color not on all the walls. It was a bit overwhelming. We decided on a neutral brown. Yes, its a little unconventional. One might think with a girl we would choose pink or at least a gender neutral pastel yellow or green, but we went with brown. I forget the name of the color, but I am sure its fawn or latte or milk chocolate or something of the sort. I love it and can't wait till we get furniture in there and decorations up. We plan to do some of our own canvas art to hang up, and we still need to paint the changing table. We have 19 weeks left, but I am still itching to get this project going!

A good day
I am having one of those days, a good day that is. Maybe it was yesterday coupled with some good things today. I love rainstorms, and we had quite a rainstorm last night. For whatever reason, I love them. They make me feel calm. I walked Abby with a friend yesterday for an hour. AN HOUR! After not really excercising and instead taking Abby to the dog park while I stand there and Abby runs around, it felt good. My feet were hurting a bit afterwards, but today I woke up feeling great! I made a new dish last night. Pictures/post on the Pioneer Woman's White Chicken Enchiladas will be coming soon. This morning I got a free cup of coffee from starbucks (decaf of course), and I might be stopping by krispy kreme to get a free donut this afternoon. My office finally feels good in terms of temperature. The A/C has been out and yesterday was a doozy. Now its a cool 60 degrees and breezy. Its almost like I am getting to work outside! I am wearing a skirt and open toed sandals (Have I ever told you that I don't like my feet to feel closed in. I might have feet claustrophobia). I am also eating fresh fruit (of which we now have a grove on our kitchen counter).
Also, Glen finished painting our baby girls room last night (pictures coming soon!), and I think we are getting close (at least in the next couple of weeks) to choosing a name.
I am so thankful for all the blessings God has given me.
