first walk

today i ventured out during the morning (its finally not blazing hot) to take a walk (albeit a short 10 minute walk). i can't wait for fall when we can actually enjoy the outside. for now i think we might have to head somewhere like the mall where its air conditioned for our walks at least once she is a little older and i am brave enough to take her out by myself.

playtime

emma taylor and i were so happy to see glen come home on friday afternoon. it was a long two days without him! glen and emma taylor had some playtime (as much as a newborn can play) to celebrate.

1 week old

i can't believe emma taylor is 1 week old today! it is still so amazing to think that just one week ago i was still pregnant, and now she is ours. we have been doing well so far, and getting some sleep at night as long as we swaddle her as tight as she will go. she is surprisingly strong and will get out of the swaddle if it isn't perfectly tight. today is my first day home alone with her since glen goes back to work, and i plan on a lot of resting and doing a lot of nothing!

i can't believe how much we love this little girl already!

5 days + cow appreciation day

I am 5 days from my due date. The Doctor said most people have their babies around/somewhat near their due dates. I am hoping for sooner rather than later. Luckily she waited so I could celebrate Cow Appreciation Day! Check out last year.

I headed out to celebrate Cow Appreciation Day with the Baileys this morning (but forgot my camera) and then hit up round two for lunch. What can I say? Emma Taylor likes Chickfila!

homemade boberry biscuits

I bought some blueberries the other day in hopes of making boberry biscuits (like the ones from Bojangles) just to find out all the copycat recipes are made with dehydrated blueberries. I decided to go for it anyways with the fresh ones. I like these with the fresh berries so much better! This recipe is really good although I think my biscuits turned out a little softer than the ones at Bojangles.

{sorry for the bad photo quality. i got lazy and took this with my phone.}

weekend recap

We have been busy. So here's our weekend recap (without pictures- I am sure that will change soon with Emma Taylor!).

Friday- we bought a car! and we grilled ribs to celebrate.

Saturday- we did chores, rested, took Abby on her first new car ride (we stuck her in the back and we're not sure how much she liked it), walked on the canal/river walk.

Sunday- church and 4th of July party at our neighbors. We also discovered Cosmo's fear of fireworks.

Monday- 4th of July celebration with our good friends Andrew & Elizabeth and their families which included some amazing ribs, chicken, peach cobbler, blackberry cobbler, and peach ice cream!

Today (Tuesday) is officially my first day off without Glen. I am glad to have some time off before Emma Taylor comes, and I hope that I will truly be able to rest and relax.
