happy halloween

we had planned to be part of our church's trunk or treat celebration, but poor little emma taylor came down with a little cough/cold this weekend. with the high being 60 degrees there is no way we would take her out in the cold. so instead we handed out candy at our house. like last year the trick-or-treaters were few and far between and many of them were teenagers who were barely dressed up. oh well, hopefully emma taylor will be well enough next year to go out and have some fun!

pumpkin carving

this past weekend we carved pumpkins with some friends from church. we love carving pumpkins each year, and i can't wait till emma taylor is really old enough to carve her own pumpkin or at least be part of the action.

tummy time

emma taylor does NOT like tummy time, but she was a good enough sport to take some pictures before she flipped out. pictures courtesy of h!

effects

sometimes i think putting effects on pictures really makes the difference. i am not picture editing wizard, but i really love how these look in b&w and warmified. pictures courtesy of h!

leg warmers

i hate that it's getting cold and i have to put pants on top of whatever onsie emma taylor is wearing. it makes changing a diaper more work...maybe i am a lazy mom but i just like convenience. plus, now that emma taylor is in cloth diapers sometimes it is hard to get pants over them. i found several tutorials on how to make baby leg warmers out of socks and ended up with these. i hope to get some more socks and use these instead of pants, at least most of the time. i made them a bit long, but i guess that just means she has room to grow!

8 inches

i cut my hair to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths! i have been ready for awhile to cut it, but i think it'll take a bit to get used too...overall, i love it!

a toy

emma taylor has been grabbing onto everything. she will reach out and grab the hanging toys on her bouncy seat or playmat but not any that are just sitting there for her. so we found a toy she can't drop.

speaking whale

so my videos haven't worked so far anytime i try to load them onto the blog. this time i used youtube and i think it is good to go...

apparently, emma taylor can speak to whales...she doesn't coo or make "normal" baby sounds normally. check out the video.

excuse the spit up in the first few seconds of the video and stick around the fun starts around 15 seconds...

2 chairs

we bought 2 chairs from a you finish it wood furniture store to go along with our benches for our recently redone table. originally we thought about staining our table a unique color (green, blue, or red) but decided instead to stain it a natural wood stain and paint the chairs a fun color instead. these are bayberry green, and i love how the turned out! eventually, we would like to find a wooden high chair for emma taylor and paint it the same green color to match!

a little photoshoot

3 months

emma taylor is getting so big! on one hand, i can't believe she is already 3 months old, and on the other hand, three months doesn't sound very old. we are currently working on naps. she is hit or miss (depending on the day) whether she naps well or not. we are currently taking 4 naps a day and will hopefully be transitioning to 3 (with one being a little longer) in the next month. she is beginning to really know her surroundings and will notice when we leave the room. however, she hasn't gotten upset or anything at our leaving yet. she is becoming less portable now that she is interested in what is going on. her favorite place to be is definitely in her bouncey seat. she is always great at church in nursery. she is all smiles and loves the constant attention she gets from the nursery workers!

a bow and some rolls

glen is not a fan of big bows. usually i am not either, but i picked this one out and think its adorable! plus, who doesn't think a naked baby is cute?
