i have been wanting/looking/needing a nativity. i found this idea on pinterest. i don't have any fancy cutter so i decided to just paint it. i started this project weeks ago at a girls craft night and am just now finishing it. i guess that's life with a one year old. it didn't come out perfect but that's okay. i still really like it!
i found an idea to display christmas cards on rings. just punch a hole in the corner of the card and then add to the ring. thats great but we already had a christmas card board so i decided to hang all our old christmas cards that we have saved over the years below the current ones. it is so fun to see how people have evolved and changed. right now i only have 4 years of old cards but i can only imagine the more years that pass the harder it will be to display all of these. then i will have to come up with a new idea, but for now it works great.
emma taylor is really getting into coloring these days. we have had to confine her to her booster seat while coloring though because she took a crayon and colored just a little bit on on comforter. in her defense it is a big plain white cover. she has taken to do some relaxed coloring. feet up and all.
we have had a set of plain silver ornaments that were handed down to us from another family when we didn't have enough ornaments to fill our tree. the are old and scratched so i decided to do something different with them this year. i picked out some Christmas cloth and wrapped them up. i wasn't sure at first but now i really love how they turned out!
dec. 1 we spent the day decorating for Christmas. we picked out a tree. decorated it. hung our first ever wreath on the door. strung lights on the porch. read the first advent reading in our Jesus Storybook Bible. i am so excited about this Christmas season!
