invitations

i wanted e.t.'s first birthday invitations to be fun and original. i found some i liked on etsy.com but eventually decided just to make them myself. i love how they came out and all i needed was a little cupcake craft punch which i found on sale!

cow appreciation day 2012

in 2010 i celebrated cow appreciation day with some youth group girls. last year i was 6 days away from going into labor, and this year i got to celebrate with e.t. and glen (who finally agreed to dress up)! emma taylor loved her chickfila nuggets (she must have known they were free), and she was quite entertained with all the other cows around us.

a necklace

nobody taught this little baby to be girly. it just kind of happened. she loves this necklace, and she loves shoes.

making the transition

we decided a week before emma taylor turns 1 to go ahead and introduce her to cow's milk. although she doesn't quite love it, it seems to be growing on her. she definitely prefers water though. i am thankful to feel like she can be a bit more independent of me, but i am thankful that i was able to nurse her for one year because i know a lot of people can't. our little girl is growing up!

the 4th

we went to the peach festival to celebrate the 4th. it was emma taylor's first parade and although i know she didn't get it she seemed entertained and sat through the whole thing which is impressive since it was during her usual naptime. we played on a playground after the parade and then walked around to see all the vendors after that. later we hung out at our friends house and just took it easy. it was a great way to spend the 4th. the first couple of pictures are kind of wack since we had the camera on the wrong setting but i kind of like how they turned out.
