we have yet to have much success with solid food. she does however really like the spoon! granted we haven't even been doing this a whole week yet...

the hospital
one week ago I was at the dr. for macy's cold which had turned into a wheeze. this was our second trip to the dr. just that week. the first was for emma taylor's ears. little did I know she would need to be hospitalized. we had dealt with rsv with emma taylor and that's what I thought was wrong. I knew had to work a nebulizer and give breathing treatments. little did I know how sick she was. a little cold turned into something much worse- pneumonia. we were at the dr.'s office for more than 2 hours giving breathing treatments and steroids to avoid the hospital but it was inevitable. God definitely gave me grace and strength that day. over 2 hours at the dr. and then longer at the hospital alone with a 5 month old and 2 1/2 year old. and somehow I didn't cry. the first night was rough. my regular pediatrician wasn't there and I had some disagreements with the admitting dr. lots of meds, breathing treatments, iv needles, and checking stats every time a turned around. it was exhausting. luckily the next day, glen took much of the day shift so I could take a shower and rest a bit, and emma taylor got to go to a friend's house where she had a blast. we did have to stay a second night but luckily macy was doing much better at that point. I had great nurses too which made the whole situation bearable. please continue praying for a full recovery for macy and rest for us!
happy to be home!
the next day, e.t. took all 3 of her babies to the dr. just in case :)

bathtime love
this girl loves bathtime. if you want her in a better mood stick her in the tub! maybe both of my girls will be little fishes in the water.
half birthday {emma taylor}
we have been celebrating half birthdays with emma taylor. see her first half birthday here and second here. we almost skipped it this year because I got busy but I threw some cupcakes together with emma taylor's helped and we had a special treat after dinner. I know she won't remember this now but I hope in the future it will become a fun tradition!
2 1/2
emma taylor turned 2 1/2 on January 14th. the pictures below were the closest I could get to a decent picture. this girl never stops moving especially when there is a camera around. she has grown up so much since she turned 2. she has potty trained and moved out of her booster seat at the table. she LOVES her friends, the zoo, and chickfila. she LOVES to sing, jump on the bed, and play hide and seek. she is full of life. happy 2 1/2 big girl!

growling
remember that time that emma taylor seemed to speak whale? well macy is following suit but she has decided that she would speak dinosaur instead. these sounds were kind of cute and funny at first but now I am not so sure..

first haircut {macy}
emma taylor's first haircut wasn't that long ago. I can't believe I impulsively cut macy's hair at 5 months old. but really, it was too much. the ultra long pieces in the back and the fly away wings over her ears killed me. of course if macy got a hair cut, emma taylor needed one too :).

1,000th post
this is our 1,000th post. wow. that is it.
oh and here is a really awkward pic of me and the girls from the lights at the zoo. there is apparently no normal way to hold a 2 year old while wearing your 5 month old, but e.t.'s face just makes it that much better!

5 months {macy}
miss macy is 5 months! in the past month she has dropped her dream feed and sleeps through the night (most nights). she has mastered the roll both ways. however, she prefers to roll from back to tummy. she has made leaps and bounds in the nap department and will take longer than 45 minute naps. she goes to bed at 7 every night and that is delightful. for the most part she will put herself to sleep as long as she gets that fist in her mouth. she likes to be held facing outward and loves for you to be in her face which is good considering her big sister knows no personal space.
