this weekend we headed to York, sc for some apple picking and cider tasting with friends. it was only a 1 1/2 hr drive instead of a 3 hr to Hendersonville where all the big orchards are. it was quaint but onlu had one type of apple. also searching for good ripe apples proved to be a bit difficult. I guess since it was such a rainy season the apples didn't fair well. we ate our share of apple cider donuts and had a groupon for a cider tasting (6 kinds) and a souvenir glass for only $5.50 a person! both girls did great. we even stopped at a local bbq place on the way home even though we were a couple hours past e.t.'s naptime. I am very thankful for easy going children.
