my sister carrie brought her kids by to meet emma taylor this weekend. alexis is so excited to have two new girl cousins to play with (although that might be awhile) because her brother titus and caleb have each other to play with and she's often left out. thanks for coming to see us!

a hat

my sister rachel's mother-in-law made both her new grandaughter, hannah, and emma taylor adorable hats. its not cold outside yet, but emma taylor's little head gets cold after she takes a bath so its the perfect time to get out that hat. thanks tina! we love it!

first cloth diaper

she is still a bit small or maybe the diaper is a bit big, but we are starting to try out the cloth diapers while we still have disposable to fall back on!

emma taylor is getting much more expressive. she has also started in the last week making sweet cooing sounds. she is focusing more and definitely interacting more with us! i love it!

my girl

1 month

our little girl is already 1 month old! i can't believe it. we are getting on a more predictable schedule (at least most days), and she is sleeping great at night. we have been so blessed to have a baby that sleeps at night. she is very alert and definitely likes to be held. she has learned to like her swing too which is where she takes most of her daytime naps. she still loves to be swaddled and needs to be swaddled 90% of the time to sleep. she has been going on play dates or maybe i am taking her along for my play dates. either way she is doing great coming where we want to go. however, she does not do too well if we get off her schedule or doesn't take a good nap. we love her, and i can't wait to see how she develops over the next couple of months.

e.t. meets hannah

on friday my mom, aunt, emma taylor, and i headed up to N.C. to see my sister rachel and newest niece, hannah. hannah was born 6 lbs. 2 oz. so even though emma taylor and her are only 2 1/2 weeks apart, emma taylor looks like a giant. i am sure hannah will catch up in no time! i can't wait for these little girls to grow up together. they are going to have so much fun!

curls

emma taylor gets curls every time we give her a bath and get her hair wet. is this a sign of what is to come? maybe she will have a crazy curls like her daddy!

e.t. & abby

abby has been doing great with emma taylor. other than when guests come over (she gets a little too excited, thinking they are there to see her!) she will stay away when we tell her too and come when we invite her too. i am sure they will be best buds this time next year!

emma taylor is usually passed out sleeping in the afternoons so around the time glen gets home its his job to wake her up so i can feed her. its their special time. also, take notice, she is wearing a glen approved bow.

Week 63

80s workout baby

this headband was meant to make her cute. however she kept moving and wouldn't keep it how it should be worn. hence, the 80s workout baby.

emma taylor meets oliver

i finally got the chance to go see oliver (and shari of course) and introduce emma taylor to him. he was born just 2 days ahead of emma taylor. i am sure that they will be the bestest of friends.

4th anniversary

to celebrate our anniversary we decided to keep it pretty low key. presents included sunflowers and peanut m&ms. we went out for cupcakes on our actual anniversary but ended up taking them home to eat because emma taylor threw a little fit on the way to the cupcake shop (good thing we weren't trying to go out for dinner!). we decided to have a special anniversary dinner this past weekend. glen grilled salmon and we had greek salad, green beans, and some celebratory wine to go along with it.

2 weeks

emma taylor's two week appointment went great! she is now 9 lbs 3 oz which means she has gained back her birth weight plus 2 oz. she is in the 75th percentile all around (height, weight, head circumfrence) and the doctor says she is looking good. she is sleeping great at night and staying up a good bit during the day. she is a very wiggly and active little girl and keeps me on my toes most of the time.
