this sums up macy's personality. bright eyed. silly. engaging.' oh how I love her!

sweet
macy is beginning to be able to really play. she no longer is just there in the background. she can move around a bit, grab toys, and get in the way. even though I hear quite often from the mouth of emma taylor, "macy's grabbing ....." and "mom, make her stop". I see the sweet moments too. emma taylor beams when she gets up in the morning and macy is in the crib on the other side of the room. she asks everyday for macy to snuggle before they go down for naps. she wants to feed macy and share with her (sometimes). I can say now that I am so glad that I had two girls so close together even though I was sure when I was pregnant that macy was a boy. it is so fun and sweet to see them together!
outside in february
our weather has been crazy this year. how can we go from a snow to an ice storm and then have 80 degree weather the next week? not sure how that happens but we sure enjoyed that 80 degree weather!

6 month stats {macy}
we put off macy's 6 month well check because of her hospitalization. we finally went for that check today :). here are little miss macy's stats. and find e.t.'s stats here.
Height: 26.8 in. (75%)
Weight: 17 lbs 8 oz (67%)
Head: 17 in (62%)
big
when did these girls get so big. macy is growing like a weed. and somehow emma taylor has turned into a little girl overnight.
glen's birthday {29}
for glen's birthday the girls and I dressed up for his special birthday dinner. we hung a birthday banner, wore hats, and made him star shaped chocolate chip cookies. glen requested chocolate chip. emma taylor requested star shaped. even abby joined in on the fun.

new things
macy has quickly began some new things. first she is trying to move. somebody please make her stop. I am not ready for that.
second, I started to introduce more table food to macy instead of straight purees. apparently its a thing called baby led weaning. not sure I buy into all that but she doesn't like purees much so far so whatever she will eat is what we are going to do.
look-a-likes
glen came home the other day and the first thing he said was, "wow you look like macy." while first I was offended seeing as she usually looks ridiculous with her crazy hair, I then began to think, well I guess that's kind of cute. I still think the comment made should have been, "wow macy looks like you". here we are...in all our hair flipping glory...

6 months {macy}
macy turned 6 months a few days ago. she made some big progress in her naps right as she turned 6 months. she is taking long morning naps. staying awake and happy for longer periods of time and only taking 2 naps a day. she just started sitting up and is wiggling all over the floor like she wants to crawl. although her mama's not ready for that. she has started to really laugh when tickled and sometimes unprompted. she is a happy baby for sure. she so far has not cared for solid food but I haven't really invested much time in teaching her either. she won't go in for her 6 month well check for a couple of weeks so I don't have her stats.
sitting up & six months
I still haven't taken her specific 6 month photos yet. but we wont have her check up for another couple of weeks either. I did happen to get a few photos of her sitting up. she just started this new trick! however the photos aren't the best. this girl does not stop wiggling, rolling, and moving constantly :)

sledding in the mountains
we had some friends let us borrow their timeshare week at the mountains in highlands, nc. snow was still covering the ground the day we got there and so we took advantage and went sledding. e.t. had the best time!

a hike
there's only so much hiking you can do with an *almost* 6 month old and a 2 year old. we went with a 1/2 mile hike one way. turns out emma taylor isn't much of a hiker. glen had to carry her most of the way. looks like we could have used a second ergo.
