on christmas eve we went to church for a special joint christmas eve service with 2 other local churches. i don't think we have been to a christmas eve service since we were married and it was so good. we then raced to pick up our new traditional christmas eve food...chinese from egg roll station. e.t. doesn't watch tv ever really unless its the news that we watch in the morning, but we decided it would be a treat to watch something together. so we watched the original Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. she was enamored...

we hosted the lentz family Christmas this past weekend. we have hosted for the past few years and I love it. we have done breakfast the past two. this year we decided on a very kid friendly pancake, fruit, grits kind of breakfast. the kids got their share of presents and the adults played our 2nd annual game of white elephant. glen and I got out with a home depot gift card and basket of yummy hot chocolate and coffee assortment.

we love our park

we have a park very close to our house that is about a year old now. we absolutely love it and have met a number of friends there! we also love December in January when we can enjoy the park on a beautiful day.

we had some friends from the neighborhood over this week to decorate Christmas cookies. I have been wanting to do this with e.t. and it sounded so much more fun with friends. I was right. we had 8 kids (3 were 4 months and younger!). it was a bit chaotic at points but something I want to make a tradition!

can I tell you how much I love my photo board. we use this to celebrate birthdays by putting the past years photos. we use it to showcase our Christmas cards. and now to celebrate our baby girl and her baptism. precious photos by Joyful Images Photography!

miss macy was baptized this past sunday. we were so thankful for our family who came to celebrate with us. it was a special day!

miss macy decided today that she would roll over from her back to her tummy. and she never stopped. next thing we know she'll be crawling.

I love our pediatrician but 1 hour and 45 min is a bit long for one appointment...I guess I am thankful that these girls are so easy going!

4 months {miss macy}

we have a tall girl on our hands! she is wiggling a lot and can move herself around while laying on her back but she isn't quite rolling over yet. she takes 3 naps a day and sleeps 11-12 hours at night with a dream feed. i am so thankful to be getting so much rest with her. she is smiley smiley and loves her big sister. she has also found her voice and squeals and squeals. I guess she has got to keep up with her big sis and make some noise!

preparing the garden

we are planning on planting a garden this coming spring! so glen built a garden bed and we are starting to prepare it now. i am so excited about this! glen also found a tree company who would deliver FREE wood chips! the only downside- now we have a truck load (minus what it took to cover our small garden bed) left in our drive way...if you want any, let us know!

getting a Christmas tree with a 2 year old is so fun. she actually has somewhat of a clue what is going on! she was so excited about the lights and helping put them on. we are slowly pulling out our decorations but at least we got the tree with the lights on it for now.

recently i went to a friend's house and we got crafty and made some fabric bead necklaces. they are also called teething necklaces because they are safe for baby to chew on and cute for you to wear. they were super easy and cheap to make. i bet these would make great gifts as well. i made one for e.t. as well per glen's suggestion, and i am so glad that i did!

straight hair?

emma taylor likes to get ready with me in the morning. i usually oblige. we put lip stuff on, eye makeup, and sometimes use the hair straightener. i always pretend to use the hair straightener on her. well until today. today i said i would fix her hair. well it got done half way because she is 2 and couldn't sit still. now it is more a mess than usual!
