all over and standing

emma taylor has been scooching quite well for awhile now. she has, however, stayed in the vicinity of her playmat until now. now she is giving me quite a workout moving her or things that she may get into (like the dog's water bowl). she has also started pulling (or trying) up on things. her little arms aren't quite strong enough to pull all the way up so most times she gets half way and looks reminiscent of the chin-ups we all probably know to well from elementary school. she also hasn't figured how to get down from standing. she usually gets quite upset when she has decided she has stood long enough. all this means we have to do a lot more baby proofing and we can't leave ANYTHING out on the coffee table, side table, or bookshelf.

this pic is a bit blurry, but what can you do when your trying to take pictures of your sleeping baby? you certainly cannot turn on the light. i love that she is sleeping on top of her lovey. she is definitely attached to it.

table food

emma taylor has loved eating cheerios and puffs for quite awhile now. however, i haven't had too much luck with other finger/table foods. i have tried giving her fruit (which is slippery and fun to play with) or vegetables with no luck. i could spoon feed her some of that stuff, but i had hoped she would eat it on her own. this week we had some success. emma taylor will eat sandwiches! first she ate chicken salad (without the onions and celery) and then a cream cheese with pea and spinach mash (i know it sounds gross but she ate it up!). she of course made a mess but at least now she is tolerating her bib which slightly protects her clothes. i am glad to finally be eating with her at lunch instead of feeding her and then eating by myself when she goes down for a nap. plus she is just too cute stuffing those little sandwiches in her mouth.
